Ohio Departmental Accident Injures Firefighters

A Departmental Motor Vehicle Accident in Pleasant Township Ohio injures several firefighters after their vehicle slid off the road while responding to a call striking a pole on Coonpath Road.

The Toledo Blade:

LANCASTER, Ohio — At least three southeast Ohio firefighters have been hurt after their vehicle slid off the road as they responded to a call.

The Fairfield County sheriff’s office says there was an 8:33 a.m. report of an accident near Lancaster. Deputies say the fire vehicle went off the road and hit a utility pole. Three injured firefighters were taken to a hospital for treatment. There was no word immediately on their conditions, but their injuries weren’t believed to be life-threatening.

Police say the winter weather with slick roads likely contributed to the accident.
