Charleston Real Estate Company Supports Local Heroes

CHARLESTON, SC, March 14, 2017—One of the greatest things about Charleston is its community, full of people who take pride in their town and preserve its traditions of southern hospitality. First responders and their families are critical members of that community, and their work is invaluable in keeping it intact.

With 20 years of service in the US Coast Guard, Bradley O’Mara, owner and broker of RE/Max Elite, has a deep appreciation for what these first responders do every day. To show his gratitude, RE/Max Elite is providing any first responder who purchases a home a 500-dollar credit along with a 1% lender credit provided by Bobby Green of Starkey Mortgage to be applied towards closing costs. Additionally, 250 dollars will be donated to The Lowcountry Firefighters Support Team on behalf of the buyer. “These men and women risk their lives for us every day,” said Bradley. “It’s so important for us to give back to our first responders, because they are a large part of maintaining Charleston as the incredible city that it is.”

The Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team is a full-service counseling program dedicated to the emotional health and well-being of first responders and their families. The Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team program mission:
• To promote both peer-based and clinical behavioral health services that are easily accessible and available
• To ensure that services meet the needs of first responders and their families
• To identify those in most distress and respond effectively

Providing peer, clinical and physician support, crisis intervention, group counseling, training and community outreach, The Lowcountry Firefighter Support Team offers training workshops on topics such as Behavioral Health Awareness, Curbside Manner, Stress First Aid, Finding Work and Life Balance, Understanding Grief and Suicide Awareness. Training is not limited to just first responders and is offered to family as well, to ensure they have proper support at home.
