Off Duty Awendaw-McClellanville Consolidated Fire District Injured In Accident

Charleston County, SC – We have learned of an accident involving an off-duty Awendaw-McClellanville Consolidated Fire District firefighter this morning. The accident, which occurred on Steed Creek Road at around 645 this morning was called into the fire department’s non-emergent line. Crews arrived to find a single vehicle accident which involved a lengthy extraction to remove the firefighter who was on their way to work that morning. The firefighter was transported by Berkeley County EMS to MUSC with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

We have spoken with members of the department who report the firefighter is in good spirits and in the company of co-workers. We will update this story when information is released by the department through proper channels.
