EDITOR’S NOTE: A previous version of the Obituary for Firefighter/EMT Brannon was published by the funeral home that listed the service location as Northwood’s Baptist Church in North Charleston. Please note that this information is incorrect. The service will be held at Northwood Church located at 4020 2nd Avenue, Summerville, SC. Robert “Robby” Brannon,44 of Goose Creek, formerly of Greenville, SC, died Thursday morning at his residence surrounded by his loving family and fellow firefighters. He was born May 26, 1973 in Greenville to Robert L. Brannon and Reba Morris Lindley .
Robby dedicated his life to the fire service for over 25 years. During his time, he served with South Greenville Fire Department, Clear Springs Fire/Rescue, Old Fort Fire Department, and the city of Goose Creek Fire Department. He was also an EMT and an instructor with the South Carolina Fire Academy. He dedicated his life to serving and protecting those in the communities in which he served. He was instrumental in mentoring probationary firefighters to their fullest potential.
He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Kayla Stepp Brannon, his son, Wyatt Padgett , both of the home, his sister, Jodi Brannon Kloiber, and nephew, Nicholas Kloiber, both of Simpsonville, his mother, Reba M. Lindley , of Taylors, and his father Robert Brannon and step-mother, Emily Brannon of Simpsonville.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 12:00 pm at Northwood Church in Summerville. The family will receive friends prior to the service in the church from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
