North Charleston Mourns Loss Of Two Officers In Unrelated Overnight MVAs

North Charleston, SC – Last night two North Charleston Police Department officers were killed in unrelated MVAs which both involved reportedly intoxicated drivers.

A Charleston woman has been arrested and charged with felony DUI resulting in death after an off-duty North Charleston Police officer was killed in a two vehicle wreck on Ladson road Thursday night.

Ryan MacCluen, 31, of Summerville, died at Summerville Medical Center shortly before 10:30 p.m., according to Dorchester County Coroner Paul Brothers.

MacCluen, who was riding a motorcycle, died after a woman in a car turned in front of him on Ladson Road near Henrietta Avenue in Summerville around 9:45 p.m., according to S.C. Highway Patrol.

North Charleston, S.C. (WCIV) –

An ABC News 4 crew member that was on scene reports there was an accident Thursday night involving a North Charleston Police K9 vehicle and a GMC SUV.

The Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch center says an accident happened on Rivers Avenue and Gumwood Boulevard.

 Dispatch received the call at 8:35.

Crews on scene said Rivers Avenue was closed off between Aviation Avenue and Remount Road.
