City of Goose Creek Approves Two New Fire Stations

Goose Creek, SC–  Tonight at the City of Goose Creek City Council Meeting, Mayor and Council unanimously approved a zoning change to 535 Old Mount Holly Road ( currently open space) to be zoned general commercial, this will be the home of City of Goose Creek Engine Company 3 when it is completed. City Council also approved a contract that will be awarded to China Construction from Columbia SC,  for $13,120,000 this will cover the construction cost of the new Headquarters Station on Button Hall Blvd. near the City of Goose Creek Public Works complex at the intersection of North Goose Creek Blvd and Station 3, on Old Mount Holly.  The architects for the projects will be Thomas and Denzinger Associates.  The new Fire Headquarters will be 32,000 square feet and Station 3 will be 10,000 square feet. The construction contract calls for the stations to be built simultaneously. Chief Steve Chapman thanked Mayor and Council.

In other business City Council approved a purchase for the City of Goose Creek Police Department of (8) Dodge Charger Pursuit Police Vehicles for a total of  $ 188,000
